Hydraulic cylinder usage characteristics
(1) Single-rod hydraulic cylinder This type of hydraulic cylinder has a piston rod on only one side of the piston, and the effective action area on both sides of the piston is not equal. The larger the piston rod diameter, the greater the difference in effective action area on both sides of the piston. Under the condition of equal oil supply pressure, the thrust generated on the side without piston rod is greater than the thrust generated on the side with piston rod. When the flow rate is equal, the speed of extending the piston rod by introducing pressure oil to the side without piston rod is slower than the speed of retracting the piston rod by introducing pressure oil to the side with piston rod.
(2) Double piston rod hydraulic cylinder This cylinder has piston rods on both sides of the piston. When the diameters of the two piston rods are the same and the oil supply pressure and flow rate remain unchanged, the reciprocating speed and force of the piston are equal. Because there are two piston rods, the rigidity and stability are better.
(3) Single-acting hydraulic cylinder This type of hydraulic cylinder is a simple hydraulic cylinder. It can only supply pressure oil to one side of the piston and output a unidirectional force. The reverse movement is completed based on the load external force, spring force, plunger rod or piston rod deadweight, etc., that is, there is no hydraulic force in the opposite direction. Its advantage is to save hydraulic power and simplify the oil circuit.
(4) Double-acting hydraulic cylinders are more widely used than single-acting hydraulic cylinders. Pressure oil can be supplied alternately to both sides of the piston to drive the piston to reciprocate, and the moving speed and oil supply pressure in the push and pull directions can be controlled. There are two types of double-acting hydraulic cylinders: single piston rod and double piston rod.
(5) Plunger hydraulic cylinders are mostly single-acting cylinders. They have a simple structure and are easy to manufacture and maintain. The plunger of the plunger cylinder is thick, large, heavy, and has better rigidity than the piston rod. Therefore, this type of cylinder is used as much as possible in large-stroke hydraulic cylinders. Since the inner wall of the cylinder body does not contact the plunger, it is only guided by the contact between the guide sleeve and the plunger. The inner wall of the cylinder body cannot be machined or can only be roughly machined, the process performance is good, and the processing cost is low.
(6) Telescopic hydraulic cylinder Telescopic hydraulic cylinder is also called multi-section cylinder, multi-stage cylinder or compound cylinder. There are two types: single-acting and double-acting. This type of cylinder has a long total stroke and a short length after retraction. It is particularly suitable for occasions with small installation space and long stroke requirements. Similarly, the more long stroke nodes, the shorter the length after retraction.
